It’s an unfortunate fact, but in these harsh economic times, theft of cash in tills, ATMs and CIT continues to rise. Theft of commodities, cars, electronic goods and jewellery are falling as their trade-in value is eroded, but stolen cash can fund expensive criminal lifestyles and further illegal activity: drugs, prostitution, people trafficking and protection rackets.
Also, as law enforcement agencies employ more sophisticated methods of detection: CCTV, dye systems, forensic markers and anti-theft gates organised gangs respond with increased violence - endangering the lives of CIT staff, vendors, staff and customers. How is this circle to be broken? – By damaging cash beyond use.
